Job Description

Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland/Cuyahoga County is sourcing Dish Machine Operators for a local restaurant chain. The establishment has 6 locations in the area including: Mayfield, Beachwood, Downtown Cleveland, Independence, Lakewood and Bedford. Part-time and Full-time opportunities are available.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for operating the dish machine, using a 3-compartment sink, maintaining the dish area, putting supplies in their designated area, trash removal, and various cleaning projects throughout the restaurant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets up and properly uses dish tank area, dish machine, and 3 compartment sinks when necessary.
  • Properly washes and sorts dirty dishes, silverware, utensils, glassware, cookware, and storage containers.
    Changes sanitizer water as needed.
    Keeps dish area organized and free of clutter.
  • Cleans and maintains floors in the front and back of house with a mop and or broom as needed.
  • Stocks all materials required for the dish tank area, mop sink area, and restrooms.
  • Maintains trash cans throughout the entire restaurant changing the bags when cans are ¾ full.
  • Takes trash bags and empty broken down boxes to the dumpster area at designated times during the shift.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the dumpster and back dock area when taking out trash.
  • Monitors bus tubs throughout the restaurant in front and back of house, empties and replaces with a clean tub as needed.
  • Keeps restrooms clean and neat by performing a restroom check at designated times, restocking supplies as needed.
  • Ensures all ice bins are full prior to and throughout the shift.
    Properly dispenses and uses chemicals when cleaning and complies with MSDS regulations.
  • Maintains great “curb appeal” for restaurant by keeping parking lot, walkways, and outside grounds free of litter and debris.
  • Clears walkways of snow and ice and applies snowmelt to heavy traffic areas to prevent unnecessary slips and falls.
  • Completes opening and closing checklists for every shift.
  • Completes daily side work, cleaning projects, and monthly maintenance lists.
  • Washes hands and follows sanitation procedures at all times throughout the shift.
  • Maintains the Company expectations of performance and behavior as established in the Employee Handbook.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Mobility required during the entire shift
 Responsible, dependable, and flexible in scheduling
 Medium to heavy strength range
 Able to read and verbally communicate
 Is a team player
 Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
