POSITION:    FT Telephone Operator II - OMJ

DEPARTMENT:   Job and Family Services

 

SALARY:    $18.39/hr. - Probationary

      $19.13/hr. – After Probation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or equivalent.  Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license and operable vehicle.  Develop and maintain positive relationship to all customers, businesses, co-workers, and partners.  Able to overcome barriers to assist clients.  Able to react in emergency situations.  Utilize interviewing skills to determine client needs and barriers.  Ability to assist in problem solving. Erie County residency preferred.

 

 

Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.

Job Duties:

 

Perform various front-line lobby duties:

         Provide courteous, friendly and professional assistance to all clients.

         Greet people who enter and determine purpose of visit.

         Answer phone, take messages and forward calls to appropriate personnel.

         Provide one-on-one client assistance.

         Assists employers in posting open positions to OhioMeansJobs website.

         Assists employers in scheduling hiring events or attending job fairs.

         Assists in managing social media accounts.

         Creates flyers to promote events.

         Maintain tracking records.

         Complete daily documentation.

         Ensure completion of required forms.

         Monitor client computer activity.

         Prepare and assists in Resume building.

         Assist clients in internet job searching and case information. 

         Screen various applications for completeness.

         Refer customers to other inside/outside agencies.

         Provide tours to guests and visitors.

         Assist volunteer partners.

         Assist in various special events, programs and services.

         Computer and fax use.

         Attend Staff meetings, training and workshops as required.

         Periodically inspect inventory and equipment.

         Coverage as assigned including lunch and leave coverage.

         Perform data entry.

         Conduct and track mass mailings.

         Promotes the Agency’s mission of advocating self-sufficiency.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

         High school graduate or equivalent.

         Proficient in English grammar and composition.

         Good oral and written communication skills.

         Proficient in typing, word processing, data processing and writing.

         Maintain proficiency in operation of office equipment.

         Continually maintain proficiency in all office programs.

         Knowledge of OWCMS, ARIES, OBWP, Work Keys, Microsoft programs.

         Maintain basic knowledge of WIOA, PRC, Trade Act, BVR/OOD, Youth, Veteran Programs, Unemployment Insurance, Child Support, Child Care, SNAP, Medicaid and TANF Programs.

         Ability to follow established policy and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

        Alternate frequently between sitting/standing/walking throughout an eight (8) hour workday.

        Lift/carry a minimum of eight (8) pounds.

        Reaching with bilateral upper extremities into/up to/down to various heights.

        Push/pull with twenty (20) pounds of initial force.

        Climb onto stepladder (2 steps).

        Bend/squat/crouch/kneel.

Preferred Qualifications:

        Erie County residency preferred.

        Minimum Associate degree preferred
