Job Summary

The Knowledge team leader Cultures & Probiotics will apply functional leadership to drive strategic projects throughout the cultures and probiotics global organization. Together with the manufacturing technology engineers at the plants, the knowledge team leader is responsible to reach the cost and capacity savings targets, both short and long term. To be able to meet the long-term targets, the knowledge team leader will seek for new technologies in collaboration with Process R&D and drive the projects for large scale implementation. As a member of the Manufacturing Technology team, you will be leading functionally, a diverse global team and ensure global collaboration, sharing best practices, standardize processes and help towards data democratization and digitization.

Responsibilities:

Promote technology vision and champion global collaboration for H&B cultures & probiotics sites globally
Lead global Cultures&Probiotics knowledge team and partner with sub-team leaders to enhance global collaboration and foster an environment of continuous improvement of our C&P technologies
Develop and review technology performance metrics with production sites
Develop and maintain knowledge management systems to be able to share best practices and drive continuous improvement
Mentor and develop engineers globally for C&P technologies and data democratization technologies
Partner with manufacturing sites to deliver capacity and variable cost savings through continuous improvement
Develop and replenish project portfolio aligning with Business and PR&D
Partner with R&D to drive new technology development and take initiative to explore new large scale technologies with higher efficiency/lower cost. Explore options for furhter digitization with digital MT leads and digital team
Drive implementation projects of new technologies
Collaborate with other functions (Quality, Analytics, Capital, ..) to ensure new initiatives are shared and supported.
Lead major strategic initiatives related to Cultures&Probiotics technology
Ensure that good engineering practices are shared and followed across all C&P sites related to design and operation
Foster an environment of continuous improvement of our C&P technologies

Qualifications

BS/MS in Engineering related to Bioprocessing/industrial biotechnology or equal by at least 5+ years of experience in this field.
In-depth knowledge of C&P technologies and operation (fermentation, concentration, cryoprotection, pelletization, freeze drying)
Demonstrated project management experience
Demonstrated skills in collaborating across locations, functions, divisions, etc.
Affinity for data democratization and digitization
Good understanding of food safety requirements in a bio process environment
Demonstrated functional leadership
Analytical thinking, detail-oriented, results focused, entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent decision making skills
Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize activities in a dynamic environment

International travel required

This position can be based at any Cultures & Probiotics manufacturing site.
