Job Description

Position Purpose

Stark State College is looking for a part-time adjunct instructor who will provide instruction in traditional and non-traditional modalities.

Prepare and deliver high quality day, evening, weekend, satellite, or web based classes in chemistry.
Assessment of students' performance.
Keeping classroom attendance records.
Submission of early alerts, midterm, and final grades by the required date, and professional development.

Essential Functions

Prepare and deliver lectures and lab material in face to face, online, and hybrid formats.
A master class textbook and lab book are provided.
Operate and run the necessary lab equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Perform and submit assessment for any sections taught.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master's degree in Chemistry or related field OR Master's Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry is required. PhD is preferred in chemistry or related field.
Experience in teaching college-level chemistry is preferred.
Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team focused and student centered environment is essential.
Ability to use technology that includes MS Office programs and Internet delivered materials is required.
Familiarity with lab data collection tools and software a plus.
Enthusiasm for teaching and continuous professional development is highly valued.
