Job Description

Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for an PET Molding Application Engineer - Injection Molding to join our team in Batavia, OH. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for sizing machines for new applications and collaborating with the sales teams and customers to ensure that Milacron's equipment complements and fits the customer's desired application, thereby ensuring optimum cycle time and reliability. You will also work closely with sales engineers, product managers, customers, and other Milacron stakeholders to ensure success during customer mold trials, sales demo mold trials, and testing of injection molding machines.

Work You'll Do:

Responsibilities

Responsible for installing customer molds and tooling to demonstrate machines for customer acceptance, sales demonstrations and validation testing
Become familiar with all Milacron control systems, dryer systems, hot runner, auxiliaries, customer tooling, etc.
Ability to train customers on machine operation, setup and optimization
Energy testing and Recovery rate testing
Advise and support sales and customers in the selection of the correct equipment for specific applications
Communicate with sales force and customers in a professional manner
Complete and document machine/processing testing
Assist the work of engineering, Technical Service engineer/manager to collect data for machine sizing
Be a resource for NPD on new machine designs
Participate in the design and execution of quality assurance/ reliability improvement activities
Ability to travel for customer training, machine/cycle optimization and support field installations
Ability to travel for trade shows for setup/teardown and during the show
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to work around moving equipment, fork trucks, cranes, heavy equipment, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours on short notice
Write and / or present regular process reports to the team leaders and other internal clients

Skills

Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in the use of PC based applications, including Microsoft Office.
Understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and thermodynamic systems
Mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of molding/tooling is preferred
Ability to perform work in accordance with safety standards at all times
Proficiency with SPC software
Data analysis and interpretations skills
Proficient with
Excel PowerPoint
Word Auto Cad

Education

2 Year Degree in Engineering Technology (or related field), bachelor's degree preferred
