Lima Convalescent Home is seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Assistant to join their team and make a positive impact on the lives of residents. Position: Activities Assistant
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to operate facility vehicle
- Prior healthcare of senior care is preferred
- Flexibility to work evening hours and weekends as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs
Responsibilities:
- Conducting and assisting with individual and group activities, ensuring they meet the diverse needs and interests of residents
- Escorting residents to and from activities, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Communicating upcoming activities and events to residents, families, and staff to encourage participation
- Assisting with resident assessments and collaborating with the activities team to plan and implement engaging programs
- Projecting a positive image of the organization in interactions with residents, families, and co-workers
- Actively recording resident participation and progress using activity software
