Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. This role will work within our raw materials, finished goods, and/or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) teams to purchase supplies supporting our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will conduct thorough purchasing analysis to ensure optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance. The role would also have responsibility for evaluating and on-boarding new suppliers when necessary.

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills will assist in your success in the role. Proficiency in procurement processes, vendor management, and cost analysis is essential. Lastly, the ability to learn, navigate, and retrieve data from ERP systems is required, and prior experience in these tasks is strongly preferred. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, or related field of study required
3-5 years of material management experience required
Knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated analytical skills with knowledge of data analysis tools (i.e. Excel) and reporting
Previous experience purchasing steel or castings in the metals market preferred
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Previous experience in using SAP PLM, MM, and SD preferred
