Job Description: USA Precast Concrete in Canal Fulton, OH, is hiring a full-time Precast Concrete Engineer.
Job Summary:
USA Precast Concrete is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Precast Concrete Engineer to join our growing team in Canal Fulton, Ohio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, analysis and production of high-quality precast concrete structures. While a background in civil or structural engineering with specific precast experience is ideal, we encourage candidates with strong engineering fundamentals from other disciplines who demonstrate a passion for learning and problem-solving to apply. The Precast Concrete Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, constructability and efficiency of our precast concrete products.
Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for a variety of precast concrete products.
- Develop detailed shop drawings in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., ACI, ODOT) and project requirements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate concrete mixes, reinforcement and connection details.
Project Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate directly with and assist customers.
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide solutions to design-related issues.
- Create submittals for review related to precast concrete components.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as required.
Production Support:
- Provide technical support to the production team to ensure accurate fabrication of precast elements.
- Develop and review production drawings and details for clarity and constructability.
- Troubleshoot any design or production-related challenges that may arise.
Quality Assurance:
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures for precast concrete products.
- Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Eagerness to obtain industry specific certifications.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in precast concrete technology, materials and design practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, or related field).
- 1-5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred, ideally within the precast concrete industry. However, strong entry-level candidates with a demonstrable aptitude for structural design and a willingness to learn will be considered.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis principles, mechanics of materials, and concrete design.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Skills:
- CAD Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for generating and reviewing drawings.
- Precast Detailing Software (Preferred): Familiarity with precast detailing software such as Titan 3000 is a significant advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $62,000-$65,000
Travel Required: On occasion, will be required to travel to job sites (approximately 5%)

Details: Full time. First Shift (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). 40 hours/week. Monday through Friday. $62,000/year to $65,000/year.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, or related field). 1-5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred, ideally within the precast concrete industry. However, strong entry-level candidates with a demonstrable aptitude for structural design and a willingness to learn will be considered. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Driver’s License Requirement(s): Must have valid driver’s license.
