Description

Position Summary

The fellowship will combine mentoring, research, and clinical experience. The research fellows will spend several half days in clinics with staff physicians who have been chosen to mentor for a given year. Clinical exposure will largely be in clinic, but may also include some time observing in the operating room. There will be regularly scheduled meetings with some/all of the mentors on the team to review projects, and advise. Award winners will also participate in a lecture series to discuss study design and statistics. The goal is to become primary researchers, and encourage/teach about IRBs, as well as writing abstracts and manuscripts. Research fellows will be encouraged to submit research to a national meeting and the department will support them in attending the meeting and giving the presentation should it be selected. Engaged in fieldwork, clinic, and writing of technical publications and reports
