DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:


Monitors and documents process control parameters and objectives for each treatment process assigned. Evaluates process and report when parameters are not within control Develops recommendations for corrective action.
Review drawings, specifications, Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures to understand equipment function and performance.
Review operating data and perform analyses to understand correlations between various process
Observe plant operations and provide detailed documentation of
Is delegated problems and is expected to research possible solutions, analyzes the data researched, and evaluates possible alternatives.
Actively participates in meetings and may at times present findings from research and analysis.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Candidate must be enrolled as a senior in a bachelor's degree program or better with a declared major of Chemical or Civil Engineering or a closely related field of study. This position may include those that have graduated from a related program within 24 months of the date of application.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Candidate must possess effective written and verbal communication, organizational skills and decision-making abilities.


Candidate must be detail oriented and have effective project and time management skills and be well organized.
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. Familiarity with project tools, such as MS Project or Primavera preferred.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

During the course of performing the essential functions of this position the employee must be able to compare, compute, analyze, synthesize, communicate, coordinate and instruct. Ability to communicate while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills is required. Physical work will need to be performed, such as standing, sitting, balancing, kneeling, crawling, hearing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and talking. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. Position will require visual demands of near acuity and accommodation. The position is a mix of office and field work stationed within one or more of the three wastewater treatment facilities of the Sewer District. While working in the field the employee may be exposed to extreme weather, atmospheric conditions, vibrations, hazards and confined/restricted working environments.

Employee must possess the ability to wear required respiratory protection devices in accordance with the Sewer District's policy, including not having facial hair that interferes with the facepiece-to-face seal.

Pay Range: USD, Commensurate based on level of Education


Undergraduate: $19.82
Graduate: $21.85
