Job Description:
The City of Lima is currently accepting applications for the seasonal position of GenNext Makers Site Leader in the Department of Workforce and Small Business Development. Under the direction of the Workforce and Small Business Development Coordinator, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day camp operations.
Responsibilities:
- The specific duties of this position include supervising up to 30 youths ages 10-13 years old, preparing for the daily activities, running the activities, and interacting with the children who attend the camp.
- The GenNext Makers Site Leader is responsible for the well-being and safety of the children at camp. The GenNext Site Leader needs to work cooperatively with parents, partnering businesses, and other camp support personnel.
Schedule:
- The GenNext Makers Camp is scheduled for July 21, 2024-July 24, 2025.
- The individual will work these days as well as complete an orientation prior to the camp.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of experience in working with youth.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- The ability to speak and write Standard English appropriately in a business setting.
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Possess excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
