About the Job

Inside the Role
This position is responsible for the preparation and assembly of Series 50/60 heavy duty diesel cylinder heads by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for install parts such as valves, valves springs and other small parts, performing visual inspection of product to meet established quality standards, and using various hand & air tools.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Operating rottler seat cutting machine, air tools, impact wrenches, multi press horizontal hydraulic presses, dial gauges, and battery operated torque wrenches.
Use of pallet jack & hoist
Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
Adhere to established work rotation plan
Complete training matrix for each rotation position
Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions

Other tasks and/or duties as requested

Safety:

Adhere to all safety standards-Including additional PPE as required

Advise team leader of any safety issues
Adhere to 5S (Sort, Shine, Set in order, Standardize, Sustain) work standards to promote safety, quality, efficiency and good housekeeping
Participate in team/area/plant safety goals, audits and objectives
Encourage daily stretches and comfort log

Quality:

Maintain all quality requirements of individual task, work team, and facility

Correct individual and work team failures
Advise team leader of quality issues as they arise or in anticipation of issues arising
Provide continuous improvement recommendations to team leader
Perform problem solving and root cause analysis

Delivery:

Perform duties applicable to your work team
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Maintain all productivity requirements of the work team and facility
Advise team leader of productivity issues as they arise or in anticipation of issues arising
Assist other team members as needed

Cost:

Utilize tools in correct manner in assigned work team
Reduce waste in work area
Maintain safe, clean, and sanitized environment

Morale:

Participate in huddle team meetings
Complete required training programs including cross training and On-The-Job-Training (OJT)
Advise team leader of any changes in work standards

Environment:

Put waste or discarded material in appropriate locations while adhering to applicable Environmental Work Instruction for the proper handling, collection and removal of Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Waste
Dispose of chemical or chemical containers in appropriate manner
Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures and applicable local, state and federal regulations

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school diploma/GED preferred
Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment
Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently, with periodic lifts of up to 75lbs, (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist)
Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation
Willingness to cross-train throughout the area
Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
Ability to work overtime when necessary
Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
Perform other duties as assigned
