HX5 is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support to NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC) in support of the Advanced Modular Power Systems (AMPS). AMPS has previously developed and tested a string of hardware in a laboratory environment, reaching a technology readiness level (TRL) of 4 (demonstration in a laboratory environment). The assigned engineer will be working with a team of senior Electrical Engineers to advance the AMPS project to a relevant environment (TRL 6) using parts with a path to flight or even non-qualified space parts.

Required Skills:

Must have at least 2 years of power electronics design experience.
At least 1 year of experience working directly in the design, fabrication, and test power electronics.
Testing background with fundamental knowledge of test equipment.
Must have knowledge with LTSpice or Simetrix/Simplis for simulation development of power electronics behavior.

Other Desired Skills:

Proficient in the usage of Altium Designer version 21 or greater, along with the design standards associated with IPC-2221 and IPC-2222.
Ability to read and create engineering drawings for power electronics assemblies.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of experience or Master's degree with 0 to 3 years of experience

Other Position Requirements:

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
