Job Title: College Intern – Quality & Fixed Assets
Location: AMG Industries
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Schedule: 30–40 hours/week, Summer Internship (approx. 10–12 weeks)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college intern to support our Quality and Fixed Assets teams throughout the summer. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in manufacturing operations, quality systems, and asset management. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and has a knack for organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Quality Projects (Approx. 60–70% of time):
- PPAP Submission Support:
- Assist in organizing and breaking down Excel files for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
- Upload and catalog supporting documents in required formats and systems.
- Defect Catalogue Development:
- Photograph various parts to aid in PPAP documentation and create/update a reference catalog of defects for both Quality and Production departments.
- QMS Organization:
- Collaborate with Quality and Production staff to update, format, and reorganize documentation to improve the usability of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assist in tracking down missing or outdated documents and propose more logical organizational systems.
Fixed Assets Support (Approx. 30–40% of time):
- Conduct plant floor walkthroughs to identify all current physical assets (machinery, tooling, racking, computer hardware, etc.).
- Tag assets (as applicable) and record detailed information (location, type, condition) in an Excel spreadsheet for documentation and tracking purposes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general PC use.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to organizing data and documents.
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Willingness to work on the plant floor and interact with a range of personnel (production, quality, and admin).
- Bonus: Quick grasp of technical concepts, even without prior exposure to technical drawings or manufacturing documents.

- Duration: ~10–12 weeks.
- This internship is intended to provide real-world exposure to manufacturing operations, quality systems, and business process organization.
- Other special projects may be assigned based on business needs and the intern’s interests/aptitude.
