Responsibilities

• Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of the teacher.
• Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Keeps students safe and engaged.
• Exhibits proper classroom management techniques.
• Understands building and classroom policy and procedures.
• Documents lesson plans.
• Maintains student records/performance.
• Follows the Individualized Education Program (IEP) of the student.

Qualifications

• Clean criminal background.
• High School Diploma or GED is required. Associate's Degree or higher or the ability to successfully pass the ParaPro Exam (Cost is dependent on location of the exam).
• Three (3) positive professional references.
• Experience working with school aged children.

• Hold an associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution. 
• Have completed at least two years of coursework (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited institution.

• Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license with ESEA Endorsement ($20).
• FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency).
