Job Description
You will support all Sweet Baked Snacks Research & Development (R&D) teams with iterative product prototyping, managing Innovation Lab and Products Research Lab (PRL) spaces, supporting our Quality and Safety Program, and performing various administrative duties. You will have daily interactions with team members, and you must have the ability to execute a broad range of technical tasks and adapt to changing priorities.In this role you will support both the research lab and product development teams.
Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices
Working Environment: 100% Onsite Presence Required
In this role you will:
Scale and batch formulas in lab and PRL spaces.
Be an Area Owner of R&D spaces, completing periodic inspections of the labs and equipment to identify sanitation and repair needs.
Provide maintenance leadership to Process Laboratory by developing and implementing strategies for processing and auxiliary equipment. Effectively execute preventative maintenance tasks by working closely with inside and outside resources in the PRL.
Develop CIL (clean/inspect/lubricate) processes and templates for routine maintenance. Assemble and disassemble equipment in the Process Lab to perform maintenance tasks, inclusive of routine sanitation.
Work with components of complex machinery and equipment. Comfortable using machine shop instrumentation to create tooling and parts for equipment in the PRL (processing, packaging etc.).
Use various systems of information for completing work: inventory management system, lab management systems for sample submission, SharePoint, and others.
Support Quality and Safety Program owners to manage the application of R&D's programs in the lab and PRL spaces.
Provide logistics support including organization and management of shipping docks, operation of powered industrial vehicles, and ownership of associated processes and documentation for shipping, receiving, and dock storage.
Submit purchase requisition requests for spare parts and on-site vendor service.
Perform other R&D duties, as assigned.
This role may require overtime to meet business needs.

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or Vocational Diploma
Shows mathematical aptitude
Strong mechanical aptitude
Comfortable working with computers and proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to multitask efficiently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to take direction from and interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
AA/AS in Science/Technology and 3 years laboratory experience or undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.)
Prior food industry experience within R&D
