Job Description

Job Summary

The Process Operator is responsible for operating the dryer and other plant equipment to produce finished product.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Oversees drying/processing of raw material to finished product; monitors drying rate of material to maintain maximum rate of processing per hour.
Maintains consistent flow of material from initial receipt to shipment.
Monitors control panel and various gauges to ensure process maximum efficiencies.
Operates bio-mass burner and pollution control systems within parameters established by Company, state, and local regulations.
May perform some preventative maintenance duties (i.e. lubricating machinery and checking lubricant levels as required)
Informs Shift Lead Person and Plant Manager of any problems.
May be responsible for plant start-up or shut-down.
Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
Aware of, has received training and is responsible for maintaining Darling's Food Safety program.
All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.
Minimum 6 months experience in Bakery plant or related environment dealing with moisture levels, biomass burners, forced air dryers, grinders, conveyors, air and wastewater controls.

Preferred Qualifications

Work well with others in a team environment.
Safety conscience; detail oriented; able to multi-task.
Good mechanical skills; knowledge of plant processes and equipment.

Physical Demands

Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
Occasionally push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment
