Job Overview: The 3rd Shift CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal fabrication equipment including laser cutters, punch presses, and die cutters. This role plays a key part in producing precise, high-quality parts used in durable labeling and identification systems.

Objectives:


Accurately fabricate parts to spec, maintaining first-pass yield standards
Complete job orders efficiently with minimal rework or downtime
Collaborate with teammates to prioritize urgent work and troubleshoot issues
Follow all documented work instructions, safety procedures, and job routers
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace

Responsibilities:


Set up and operate CNC and manual fabrication equipment (laser, punch press, shear, die cutter, etc.)
Load/unload sheet materials and manage scrap
Perform in-process quality checks using measurement tools
Read and interpret technical drawings and job proofs
Document completion of work and report deviations from spec
Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting
Support other areas as needed during low-volume periods

Qualifications

Qualifications:


High School Diploma, GED, or relevant manufacturing experience
Prior CNC or sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
Ability to read blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality
Excellent reliability and teamwork
Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes

Physical Requirements:


Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout an 8-hour shift
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for machine operation
Tolerance to work in environments with moderate noise
