The New Ventures Relationship Manager is a critical position reporting to the SVP of Technology responsible for the identification, development, maintenance, and fostering of key customer relationships in emerging and developing new market innovation segments for Seaman Corporation.
POSITION SUMMARY: The New Ventures Relationship Manager is critical to the current and future growth of Seaman Corporation into new and adjacent market segments and solutions. The New Ventures Relationship Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships at strategic customer accounts to enable early-stage innovation and commercial development.
The New Ventures Relationship Manager will be a highly motivated, self-directed, and creative individual with a proven track record of leveraging unique customer insights, business acumen, and organizational knowledge to communicate valuable customer solutions at various levels within key developing accounts. The ability to influence from the C-Suite to the individual contributor level with understanding of complex organization relationships throughout is an important characteristic for this individual.
The New Ventures Relationship Manager will lead three distinct sets of activities: (1) account management for developing accounts where New Venture Solutions are being commercially adopted but the offering/business processes are not yet mature, (2) key account management for developing relationships that have not yet reached the commercial stage, and (3) sales/market discovery of developing broad market solutions in the New Ventures portfolio.
The successful New Ventures Relationship Manager will be highly collaborative. The candidate will work closely with the NBD Director, R&D Director, and Strategic New Business Development teams to create connections leading to positive commercial outcomes. The New Ventures Relationship Manager will play a key role in New Ventures development projects across various stages to establish relationships and insights from customers, seeking feedback on prototyping solutions, and clearing the path for commercial adoption.
The New Ventures Relationship Manager will be expected to understand Seaman Corporation core products, markets, and go-to-market strategies through interactions with Strategic Business Development Leaders, Product Management, Core Marketing, and current customers to better understand established markets and go-to-market approaches. Through these insights the New Ventures Relationship Manager can represent Seaman Corporation in both the established and developing products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain key relationships at strategic customer accounts to support early-stage innovation and commercial development.
- Influence stakeholders across multiple levels, from C-Suite executives to individual contributors, to drive adoption of new ventures solutions.
- Navigate complex organizational relationships to foster trust and collaboration with potential partners.
Account Management & Commercial Development
- Manage developing accounts where New Venture Solutions are being commercially adopted but processes are still evolving.
- Lead key account management efforts to cultivate relationships that have not yet reached the commercial stage.
- Facilitate customer feedback loops on prototyping solutions to accelerate commercial adoption.
Market Exploration & Business Development
- Conduct sales and market discovery efforts to assess broad market solutions within the New Ventures portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with NBD Director, R&D Director, and Strategic New Business Development teams to generate commercial opportunities.
- Identify emerging market trends and customer needs to drive new business strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Representation
- Work with internal teams, including Strategic Business Development Leaders, Product Management, and Core Marketing, to align go-to-market strategies.
- Represent Seaman Corporation in discussions regarding both established and developing products and services.
- Act as the bridge between customers and internal stakeholders to refine product offerings based on market insights.
Innovation & Growth Leadership
- Contribute to new venture development projects by establishing customer relationships, gathering market intelligence, and ensuring commercial viability.
- Serve as voice of customer role for developing New Venture Project Opportunities, gathering key answers to questions necessary to advance, pause, or kill projects.
- Guide the organization in identifying key opportunities for expansion into adjacent markets.
- Support the overall vision for growth and strategic innovation within Seaman Corporation.
This role demands strong strategic vision, entrepreneurial mindset, and sales expertise to expand Seaman Corporation's footprint into new and adjacent markets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or BA degree
- Business degree or certifications, or equivalent experience preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
- B2B and/or B2C sales and marketing experience
- Experience in customer and account relationship management
