POSITION OVERVIEW
The Wellston Plant is the heart of the Totino's business! The plant has three pizza lines and three pizza rolls systems. In addition, the plant makes its own cheese and blends its own spices.
The Senior Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer (internally called a Sr. Systems Engineer) will provide technical leadership as an equipment, system, and product specialist. This role is responsible to identify, lead, develop, and execute solutions for performance improvements and loss elimination through strong business partnership, strategic productivity, capacity solutions and continuous improvement efforts. This role is a technical resource and liaison to drive successful commercialization of business initiatives on manufacturing systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Influence and develop technical capabilities in themselves and surrounding team through hands on engagement
Provide technical and business expertise on manufacturing systems/technologies/products and materials
Demonstrate expertise in machine, materials, methods, environment, and personnel to provide robust operating systems
Understand and provide expertise for human and food safety systems as they apply to the systems
Drive loss elimination while improving system and equipment reliability through demonstrated use of continuous improvement processes, problem solving, statistical analysis and support of productivity initiatives
Provide technical support on capital projects and new product and packaging material testing and start-ups
Leverage data and information systems to identify and drive decision making (performance metrics, financial information, data historian, maintenance management system)
Develop strategic technical improvement plans for systems
Identify and implement HMM solutions to drive out losses
Maintain material balances and unit operation capability information to ensure optimal production rates, parameters, and formulas
Serve as a technical liaison for the site including production and maintenance employees, plant technical and leadership team, other manufacturing sites, corporate engineering and R&D organizations and external partners
Develop and deliver technical training for various levels of the organization and serve as a resource in cross-functional platform/technology/product teams
Communicating and engaging effectively at all levels in the organization
Lead development of current and future state Loss Tree/Glidepath
Coaches/develops operators/technicians as well as line team members through rigorous application of foundational systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience
3-5 years of related work experience in process and/or packaging engineering, process/system development, product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing
Recognized technical abilities and practical experience with capabilities in the following areas:
Theory/functionality of manufacturing systems and unit operations
Data and manufacturing performance metrics analysis
Continuous improvement techniques (Lean, TPM, Kaizen)
Loss prioritization/quantification and elimination
Coaching and training capability
Process measurement and controls to optimize system and unit operation performance
Mechanical aptitude
Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
General engineering principles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Consumer Products or Process Industry experience
Food science or packaging science experience
Statistical analysis and analytical methods
Demonstrated:
Leadership
Influence management
Collaborative team player
Self-Starter

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $93700.00 - $140700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
