Summary of Responsibilities

To prepare the vehicle for the painting process; to perform high quality automotive painting on vehicle chassis, vehicle module, cabinets and/or small parts.  To perform high quality coating applications such as interior and exterior grade linings; to assemble and apply the stripe layouts to the vehicle using established prints and layout designs or by creating new prints and designs.

Touch-up minor defects from paint operation

Perform repairs on Graco Machines

Diagnose, troubleshoot, perform repairs and maintenance on the foam and Gatorhyde machines. Including portable machines and machines in other buildings

Order parts for Graco machines

Work with management and purchasing on the ordering of the proper parts that are required to maintain or repair the Graco machines

Communicate with Graco representatives and technicians

Communicate with the proper technicians or representatives about proper repairs and maintenance on the Graco machines.

Train operators that spray with the Graco machines

Work directly with the operators that use the machines and train them how to properly maintain the guns and machines daily. Also, train them how to perform small maintenance in case of techs absence.

Technical Skills/Competencies (technical knowledge, education and experience)

High School diploma or equivalent

Two years prior working experience in automotive painting with AXALTA paints

Experience with multi-color painting applications

Experience with formula mixing and color blending

Experience with bodywork, sanding, masking, hand/air tools and tape measure

 

Personality Traits / Core Skills

High cooperation with bodywork and vehicle prep departments

Experience with Graco machines used to spray foam and bedliner materials.

Good communicational skills to work with representatives and technicians outside Braun

Good training skills to be able to work with other operators using the Graco machines

 

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements

Ability to pass spirometric testing and physical requirements

Cleanliness and operation of equipment including earplugs, respirators, spray gun and hoses

Complete all work as detailed in the summary of responsibilities of this position profile at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Demonstrate all technical skills/competencies and core skills as referenced in this job specification at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Demonstrate reasonable and reliable attendance

Maintain any required licensures and/or certifications

Operate all job-related equipment or machines at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Successfully pass a post offer drug test, as well as random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol test thereafter

Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance, regularly require to walk, talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, crouch and kneel; frequently required to use hand to finger dexterity in order to handle objects, tools, and/or controls; occasionally required to stoop or crawl
