Job Description

Job Summary:

Milacron is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Data Center Engineer with strong expertise in both traditional on-premises infrastructure and modern cloud hosting environments. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of our global data centers and hybrid cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical skills, leadership experience, and a strategic mindset to help evolve and manage our infrastructure in alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level data center infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, and networking systems.

Architect and support hybrid infrastructure solutions that integrate on-premises systems with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Lead migrations of workloads and services to cloud environments, ensuring performance, cost optimization, and security.

Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to ensure seamless connectivity and consistency across platforms.

Manage virtualization infrastructure (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and automation tools for provisioning and configuration (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

Act as a senior escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.

Support disaster recovery planning, data replication strategies, and backup solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.

Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and regular audits of infrastructure and cloud usage.

Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in cloud adoption and data center operations.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to current systems and infrastructure strategies, i.e., Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AI, Blockchain, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including IaaS and hybrid cloud design.

Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

Proficient in storage (SAN/NAS), networking fundamentals, and data center environmental controls (power, cooling).

Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance standards, and monitoring tools.

Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and cross-functional technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, or Cisco CCNP.

Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).

Familiarity with container platforms and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR) in cloud and data center environments.

Background in high-availability architectures and disaster recovery strategies across hybrid platforms.
