JOB DUTIES:

Partner with Corporate Safety Director to establish and develop a culture of safety. Provide technical and compliance expertise to the field employees in terms of good safety habits and provide direction and skills for a safe work environment. Work closely with other safety managers and supervisory personnel to achieve goals and support the safety of each of the company’s business units. Motivate behavior change and create a proactive approach and culture to safety within assigned region and throughout all companies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience providing safety management in an industrial or construction setting. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated, the employer will accept 2 additional years of experience.

Stated experience must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Managing safety related processes, setting and enforcing safety related policies, giving reports and presentations on safety to employees, and giving constructive feedback to employees to ensure compliance with safety policies; and
  • Using Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Stated experience must also include:
  • Performing vehicle accident investigations, including conducting interviews with witnesses, taking photographs, collecting evidence, documenting evidence, and communicating with law enforcement;
  • Conducting inspections of facilities and vehicles to ensure employees are complying with required routine checks; and
  • Reporting on safety related data, including for OSHA and DOT purposes including collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data, as well as using data to propose improvements to safety policies.

Position requires travel to all facilities in the Ready Mix group in Ohio, including day and overnight trips. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as well as be available on call 24/7.
