Repair/rebuild peck and foster power tongs, mud pumps, power swivels, and rethread drill stems, rope sockets, bit and jar threading, and pump jacks
Assemble machines, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, saws, and other power tools to cut, shape, and measure metal
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts
Create a variety of metal parts, check the quality and accuracy of finished parts using micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
Ensure proper sorting and handling of non-conforming parts and/or scrap material
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines
Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards in all machining processes
Keep records of work performed and maintain reports
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
