Warehouse Manager

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (SUMMARY)

As part of Site Leadership Team, this position is a high-visibility role responsible for housekeeping, safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity in assigned departments within and across Cincinnati terminal and a local but separate warehouse, inclusive of major initiatives' oversight (e.g., project management).

Responsible for engaging, coaching, and inspiring team members in the department's activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Kind & Length of Experience:

Position requires deep understanding of process improvement via structured problem-solving;
2+ years' experience leading teams in lean manufacturing environments.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS

Train and develop direct reports to their fullest potential to support organizational needs, including maintenance and improvement to the department's tiered training system;
Align assigned team with organizational objectives through key performance indicator development and maintain focus through daily huddles, one-on-ones, and other meetings, as necessary, inclusive of daily work assignments;
Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures;
Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising senior management on needed actions;
Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees;
Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with ERP;
Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Communicate progress toward key performance indicator goal attainment through daily management boards (i.e., huddle boards), where appropriate;
Communicate strategic vision throughout the organization and how daily work aligns with strategic vision;
Relentlessly pursue continuous improvement activities to achieve world-class organizational performance to support strategic vision;
Deliberately act to establish a continuous improvement culture, tactfully challenging others to improve individual and group performance, engaging the entire workforce;
Calculate and present cost-savings opportunities across organization and to customers, as directed, for proposed cost-reduction initiatives to respective management teams;
Work with internal and external suppliers to establish just-in-time production control measures;
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of 24/7 remote support;
Complete all required training assignments;
Adhere to all environmental, health, safety, and security requirements covered under local, state, and federal regulations;
Maintain hazardous waste in accordance to all local, state, and federal regulations
