Community Resource Navigator Description
Position: Community Resource Navigator
Location: Marion, Ohio
Supervisor: Michelle Ryman-Lillie
Summary: The Community Resource Navigator will assist a diverse population in Marion County and surrounding counties by providing coaching and connection to local resources. This role supports both program participants and walk-in individuals seeking help through Marion Matters, utilizing a database system for tracking and reporting. The position operates under the general supervision of the Program Director.

• Actively participate in and promote continuous quality improvement across all Marion Matters activities.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all clients.
• Manage incoming communications, including answering phones, checking voicemail, and responding to the shared office email.
• Support clients in accessing tools, training, and services necessary to overcome barriers to stability.
• Conduct oral needs assessments and interviews to develop individualized assistance plans.
• Collaborate with social service agencies, probation departments, and other support organizations to address client needs.
• Provide coaching and support services to clients referred through contracted partnerships and community collaborations.
• Identify additional barriers and assess client readiness or need for training and educational services.
• Provide ongoing follow-up with current clients and Getting Ahead graduates to monitor progress and offer continued resource navigation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files using manuals and/or a computer database system; document all client interactions for tracking and follow-up.

• Keep an organized and current database of available community resources and programs.
• Coordinate with service providers and arrange services based on case notes and client plans.
• Assist clients in completing written applications for social service programs, as needed.
• Prepare and present written and/or data reports during monthly staff meetings.
• Participate in Getting Ahead support calls, trainings, and related activities.
• Assist the Program Director in preparing for Getting Ahead classes, graduate follow-up, and ceremonies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Human Services, or Human Resources or related field OR two years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously.
• Demonstrated ability to track progress and maintain client contact.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with staff, employees, management, referral sources, public, etc.
• Ability to write accurate, detailed and concise case notes.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and CANVA.
• Has reliable transportation
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
• Ability to work with and be sensitive to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to attend and engage in meetings, trainings and professional development opportunities as required.

*Position is contingent on grant contracts. If grant funding and monies are not obtained position can be eliminated.
