Job Description

WillowWood Global, a manufacturer or prosthetic medical devices is looking to hire a Receiving Inspection Clerk.  This is a first shift position, Monday - Friday.

Under limited supervision, receives incoming product and performs moderate to complex visual and mechanical inspections of purchased materials and components for special and routine inspections. Assists with processing product returns. Fully supports the Quality Policy by building quality into all aspects of the incumbent's work and by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Audits incoming deliveries for required documentation and / or potential damage
  • Plan, prioritize, and complete inspection tasks and ensure items received from suppliers are in compliance with purchase order requirements
  • Perform receiving inspection operations on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials including purchased parts, and materials for workmanship.
  • Performs documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements.
  • Approves or rejects items and records inspection results in MAS database
  • Communicates with internal customers, and suppliers, as required, to resolve receiving inspection discrepancies
  • Analyzes incoming inspection data for common issues and trends for improved supplier notification and potential product and process improvement.
  • Assists with processing product returns per procedure, evaluating parts for credit determination and potential product improvement.
  • Assists with analyzing product returns to understand and communicate common issues and trends for process and product improvement.
  • Work with and communicate well with all co-workers and all departments to improve processes.

 

Essential Skills Required:

 

  • Education requirements include High School degree or equivalent GED
  • 5 - 10 years quality control inspection experience, certification as a Quality Inspector a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required.
  • Prior experience in the use of metrology tools and gages required. Examples of equipment used include: Dial Caliper, Micrometer, Depth Gages, Gage Blocks, Height GagesPlug and Pin GagesThread Gages
  • Experience in forklift operation required, must be able to pass and obtain forklift certification license
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel required. PowerBI a plus.
  • Data analysis & root cause analysis a plus.
  • ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 Quality System knowledge a plus
  • Experience with Quality Management System software a plus
  • Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to successfully achieve Quality Auditor certification and conduct quality audits
  • Must be able to facilitate process improvement projects.
  • Must be able to assume duties of Quality Manager and Supplier Quality Manager as needed.
