The Sr. Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading technical projects, responding to day-to-day production needs, and providing direction to a team of electricians, controls and instrumentation, and networking engineering technicians.

What you'll do in this role:

* Provide periodic support of manufacturing and facility electrical systems, using root cause failure analysis techniques to direct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation in a high-throughput manufacturing operation
* Provide direction and be able to execute the programming, installation, and technical troubleshooting support of PLC ladder-logic based hardware and software applications
* Lead prioritized controls upgrades and overhauls to manufacturing production equipment
* Lead and direct programming updates to Allen Bradley PLC ladder programs, connect Laptop Computer to PLC via network protocols
* Maintain and organize programmable logic controller (PLC) backup files using state of the art software and maintain/catalog these backups for support. Interpret electrical and electronic symbols and their functions as they pertain to electrical drawings/schematics.
* Provide electrical and controls guidance with new equipment installations
* Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, machinery assembly drawings, create component hardware BOMs, and determine additional system/hardware components for the design of electrical control systems and diagrams to perform required maintenance and service.
* Installation and integration of power distribution systems including MCCs and Power Distribution Panels
* Assist in developing and implementing a robust pipeline of automation technology to improve productivity
* Provide leadership and serve as a technical resource to associates training in the electrical discipline.
* Estimate the technical effort and cost required to implement MES solutions as well as proactively reporting on project progress against schedules.
* Assist with and provide guidance for the compliance of plant safety regulations such as (Arc Flash Electrical Safety- NFPA-70E; LOTO, Energized Work Permits, Safe Cell Entry).
* Perform work audits for self and other associates

Education:

* A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another closely related field. Technical experience may contribute towards the desired education

What you'll need to be successful:

* 5+ years of applicable engineering, IT, and/or operational experience
* Demonstrated competence in controls engineering or maintenance experience
* Demonstrated competence with Ethernet I/P controls networks
* Knowledge of C# programming
* Knowledge of SCADA systems and SQL database systems including queries and analysis
* Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects, with focus on automation in fast-paced manufacturing environments
* The ability to plan and organize by setting goals and priorities to accomplish results
* Interpersonal communication skills are needed to communicate business and technical needs

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $111,500.00 - $131,200.00 per year.
