Tell me more about this role, what would I be doing?

 

Summary:

The Check Specialist is responsible for securing all incoming loss draft checks and handling them as instructed by the loss draft team.  This position will also handle a variety of deposits and ACH payments.

 

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. 

  • Print Deposit and Stamp and Go/Special Instruction Reports

  • Pulls checks based on Deposit

  • Complete the deposit process to hand off to Treasury

  • Pull Stamp and Go/Special Instruction Checks

  • Complete S&G/SI process for hand off to Mail Team.

  • Perform other clerical duties when supervisor requests

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in Windows based environment – specifically Word, Excel, and Access

  • Perform various data entry functions as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.

  • Attendance/Quality/Production must meet or exceed PFI standards.

  • Minimum education required.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Exceptional telephone demeanor

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

 

Preferred

  • High School Diploma

 

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:

Manual dexterity, arm, and upper body range of motion sufficient for processing outbound mail. Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor. Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day. Sedentary position Repetitive motion Ability to bend/ lift/transport/retrieve items between areas in the building weighing up to approximately 10-15 pounds independently. Ability to stand, bend, and reach for limited periods of time for filing, retrieving, and organizing office area. Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
