Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work in the Department of Family Science and Social Work.  Appointment begins August 18, 2025 with the possibility of renewal for up to five years contingent on performance and funding. Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work in the Department of Family Science and Social Work. Appointment begins August 18, 2025 with the possibility of renewal for up to five years contingent on performance and funding. Three positions available to be filled.

The College of Education, Health and Society (EHS) was founded in 1902. The College of Education, Health, and Society was Miami University’s first professional school and home to Miami’s first graduate of color. The College embraces the rich opportunities available for cross-disciplinary collaboration across its six departments (Educational Leadership; Educational Psychology; Family Science and Social Work; Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health; Sport Leadership and Management; and Teacher Education).

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. or terminal degree in Family Science or Social Work or closely related field by date of appointment, and a minimum of two years of practice experience post master’s degree achievement for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor.

For appointment to Instructor: Master’s (or ABD) in Social Work or closely related field by date of appointment, and a minimum of two years of practice experience post master’s degree achievement for appointment as Instructor.

Consideration may be given to candidates with applied professional experience, including but not limited to a minimum of five years practice experience post master’s degree achievement; those holding licensure (e.g., LSW, LISW, LISW-S) in social work; and experience teaching hybrid or fully online as well as face-to-face courses.
