Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing support and guidance to families facing various challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, behavioral health, or related fields, and will be skilled in crisis intervention and motivational interviewing. The Family Support Specialist will work closely with families to develop effective strategies for overcoming obstacles and fostering resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of families and develop individualized support plans.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to families, helping them navigate complex systems and access necessary resources.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist families in immediate need.
  • Facilitate communication between families and service providers, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged.
  • Offer support in areas such as addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and behavioral health.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower families in making positive changes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of family interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery and outcomes for families.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Family or Youth Peer Support Services
  • Experience in mentoring, crisis management, or similar roles is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Proficient in crisis intervention techniques and mental health counseling methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services available for families.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
