What this job involves -

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical System Owner to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining electrical power systems at assigned sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Your day to day:

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Electrical Power Management:

Oversee electrical power systems at assigned sites, from utility service points down to 50 volt systems
Manage medium and low voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, generators, transformers, power distribution panels, motor control centers, panel boards, meters, power tools, and personal protective equipment
Ensure up-to-date single line drawings, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and flash hazard studies
Support operation, maintenance, and repair of smart building systems
Work with Site ESO for testing, inspection, and correction of deficiencies in power system devices and equipment
Maintain equipment maintenance, repair, test, and inspection records in the CMMS
Respond to power system emergencies and support site-based teams
Serve as primary contact for electric utility companies regarding outages, reliability, and safety
Maintain site power system master plan, including current capacities and future needs
Oversee proper electrical installations, meeting applicable codes and standards
Execute annual Infra-Red (IR) thermal imaging scans and follow up on deficiencies
Collaborate with engineering firms for power fault, coordination, and flash hazard studies

Electrical Safety:

Maintain site electrical safe practices and oversee the electrical safety program
Provide electrical safety training and qualification per client Current Best Approach (CBA) 8016
Conduct task-specific electrical safety qualifications for engineering personnel and site electricians
Develop and manage energized electrical work permits process
Participate in electrical systems incident investigations and follow-ups
Review proposed changes to electrical systems and Overall Risk Assessments (ORA)
Ensure proper selection and care of tools, equipment, and PPE
Lead internal & external electrical audits at client buildings
Ensure compliance with JLL OCP audit criteria related to electrical safety

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum two years of advanced technical training in a related area
Journeyman level qualification in a related field
College degree in related engineering field or equivalent experience preferred
Extensive experience matching the complexity and hazards of specific site electrical systems

Skills and Knowledge:

Thorough understanding of electrical system equipment, operation, and maintenance
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and local codes
Ability to complete electrical systems D&C and O&M program checklists
Qualified to assess hazards and safely manage work on high-voltage electrical equipment
Proficiency in CMMS Work Order Systems and Microsoft Office suite
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions based on a broad range of data
Effective leadership and conflict resolution skills
