About the Job

Job Description:
Engineer - Manufacturing positions offered by First Solar, Inc. (Perrysburg, Ohio). Develop,
continuously improve, and document proprietary solar module manufacturing processes to
achieve high quality product performance, realizing throughput, yield, and product performance
goals. Design, install, and qualify new automation/process equipment. Troubleshoot day-to-day
manufacturing issues on the production line in a timely manner. These include tool down issues,
yield, quality issues and identify actions to prevent repeat issues. Coordinate small to medium
size capital equipment projects. Design and execute planned process experiments and collect and
analyze data and report experimental results. Identify and/or implement system improvements
that contribute to the achievement of throughput, yield and product performance goals.

Minimum Requirements:
The position requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering,
industrial engineering, electronic engineering, or a related technical field and three (3) years of
experience in a solar manufacturing setting. Stated experience must include: manufacturing solar
modules and photovoltaic solutions; setup & installation of specialized equipment; structured
problem-solving using fishbone, five why and/or DMAIC; Statistical Data Analysis; writing
complete manufacturing documentation; mechanical/automation equipment troubleshooting;
manufacturing processes; and generating and maintaining FMEAs.
