This co-op position will have the opportunity to work on projects and tasks to help maintain and advance artificial intelligence and machine learning at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). The individual will play a role in assuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of CCHMC's artificial intelligence and machine learning. An ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar field.

The program provides an opportunity for students to acquire artificial intelligence and machine learning skills, gain real-world experience, and see emerging technologies as they are used in the field. Most of this work will be done in a remote setting, with some work done in the office.

Candidates will be exposed to many areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning and gain an understanding of managing that work in a healthcare environment.

AI/ML DEVELOPMENT

* Custom ML model development (Python, Scikit-learn, etc.)

* Azure Fabric (Delta) Lakehouse data analytics

* Epic Cognitive Computing models

AI/ML OPERATIONS

* Model monitoring

GOVERNANCE, POLICY, AND DISASTER RECOVERY

* Exposure to HIPAA and its relationship with AI/ML

LEARN

* Learn the daily routines of healthcare/research investigators, foster career interests in healthcare/research.

* Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions.

* Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession.

* Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment.

* Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.

* Complete Cincinnati Children's training required for the position.

* Adhere to safe work practices.

* Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department / unit.
