Job Summary

The Global Lab and Validation Manager will be responsible for the system level validation of liquid cooling architecture, design, analysis, and validation of world class liquid cooling technologies to meet customer needs. This role will establish the blueprint of system validation for liquid cooling globally for Vertiv development teams, customer and suppliers. This newly established role will build out the global liquid cooling test environments for multiple liquid cooling technologies and calibrate across all regions. The Global Lab and Validation Manager will lead by example and direct regional lab teams to establish best practices that will lead to a world class design validation competency. The ideal candidate will have a strong fundamental background in heat transfer, 1-Phase and 2-Phase fluid dynamics, and high-density cooling systems with a demonstrated record of delivering test environments suitable for aggregating multiple technologies.

This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Columbus, OH or Westerville, OH location.

Responsibilities:


* 30% - Prepare a blue print reference design for the establishment of liquid cooling system test environment..
* 20% - Direct regional lab owners to establish these best practices with their test environments
* 20% - Direct test program to develop and/or validate system safety, performance, controls, and quality.
* 20% - Interact with cross function team members to align on system requirements, project tasks and schedule adherence.
* 10% - Coordinate and plan the day-to-day technical activities of the assigned project team and report on the status of the team's projects
* Establish test environments for FAT/FWT of manufactured products.
* Establish system level components in thermal, power and rack environments that are in the consideration set for testing.
* Establish common terminology to be referenced and added to vernacular for harmonization globally.
* Scope includes, immersion systems, direct to chip systems, rear doors, Secondary fluid networks and controls. Additionally augmented products such as power, rack and other thermal infrastructure are to be included.
* The validation center of competence is established to run full system tests of multiple liquid cooling systems that include CDUs, SFN, Cold plates, coolants and other system components such as couplings, connectors and controls.
Requirements:


* BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent required; MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or an MBA, preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in test and validation with team management experience
* 5+ years of thermal/mechanical design experience
* Demonstrated expertise in mechanical design for critical infrastructure systems.
* Demonstrated success in leading product development teams (perhaps located in different regions) to accomplish project implementations on time, on budget, and with high quality.
* Solid knowledge and experience with thermal management hardware and heat transfer materials/fluids
* Experience with liquid cooling systems strongly preferred.
* Experience with 1-Phase and 2-Phase heat transfer fluids preferred.
* Demonstrated strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
