Technical Copy Editor
The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is seeking a skilled Technical Copy Editor to join our dynamic team supporting defense-related documentation and communication initiatives. This role combines technical acumen with superior writing and editing capabilities to shape compelling messaging for both future customer work and existing delivery requirements.

You will work closely with technical teams to create, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation across multiple projects and platforms. You will review and enhance technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible documentation. You will develop and maintain style guides and documentation standards. You will create and edit supporting graphics and visual elements to enhance technical communications. You will ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines while maintaining version control. You will also support proposal development and customer-facing communications.

You Have:

2+ years of experience in technical writing or editing

Experience with documentation tools and content management systems

Experience creating and editing technical documentation

Ability to use a strong command of English grammar, style, and technical writing conventions

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, English, Journalism, History, or Communications field

Nice If You Have:

Experience with graphic design tools and visual communication software

Experience working with engineering or software development teams

Experience with defense or federal government documentation

Experience in proposal writing or editing

Experience with version control systems

Knowledge of technical documentation best practices and standards

Possession of excellent project management skills

Master's degree in a related field

Professional Technical Writing Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,300.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
