The SBA Loan Specialist provides the SBA Department with efficient support and administrative assistance relating to loan documentation, loan accounting and loan file maintenance in strict accordance to SBA Standard Operation Procedures, Bank Loan Policy and Bank Procedure Policy as directed by the Director of SBA Lending.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist with coordination of loan processing and documentation for SBA loans.
• Intake SBA loan applications and determine closing requirements.
• Prepare SBA loan application documentation and closing statements.
• Coordinate, monitor and motivate loan-processing activities of attorneys, title companies and other partnerships.
• Maintains loans in process and customer reporting systems
• Knowledge of loan structuring and credit analysis
• Insure perfection of collateral liens.
• Properly disburse loans in accordance with SBA Loan Authorization
• Assists in the preparation and maintenance of SBA loan files
• Prepares loan denial and withdrawal documentation
• Assists in preparation of SBA loan guarantee claims
• Maintain general ledger and management reporting systems
• Maintain SBA 1502 loan reporting system
• Coordinate secondary market loan sales based on the direction of the Government Lending Manager.

Job Requirements 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; College degree in Business or related field preferred
• Five (5) years’ experience with SBA Operations preferred. Experience in the financial industry required
• Strong organization, analytical, underwriting, and process skills.
• Very strong skill set with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience with ETRAN, Laser Pro preferred
