Preschool Teacher Needed

We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Poplar Ridge Training Station in Defiance, Ohio

NO NIGHTS, NO WEEKENDS!

• Be able to work full-time (roughly 30 – 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday) and be flexible with scheduling.

We are looking for someone who…

• Has a High School Diploma
• Has a CDA (Child Development Associates) in Early Childhood
• Preferably has an Associate’s Degree in ECE
• Has proven experience working with preschool-aged children as a lead teacher in a classroom setting
• Has an understanding of early childhood education theories and practices
• Is patience, creativity, and a love for working with young children
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Is able to pass the required BCI & FBI Criminal Background checks
• Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties and have their doctor complete an Employee Medical Statement
• Has CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Is willing to do all the necessary and required training in the timeline given.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes learning and social-emotional development
• Plan and conduct activities (including arts and crafts, storytelling, and music) that stimulate children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth
• Establish and maintain a daily routine to ensure consistency for the children
• Observe and evaluate each child's progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child's development
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom conducive to learning
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and enriching educational experience for all children
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times
