The Ground Operations Instructor/Auditor focuses on aircraft cargo loading and will conduct SMS Safety Assurance auditing and Safety Risk Management of ground operations processes and services provided by airline employees and contractors. Communicate and coordinate ground operations technical, safety, security, and regulatory matters with airline management and staff, regulatory agents and inspectors, customer and contractor staff, and Professional Loadmaster staff. Provide classroom and on-the-job technical and regulatory training of ground operations cargo and aircraft ground handling processes performed by airline employees and contract service providers. Provide subject matter expertise, research, and development of FAA and TSA compliant methods and procedures for cargo airline ground operations including: air cargo build-up, restraint, and loading; dangerous goods air acceptance and handling; aircraft weight & balance calculation; aircraft loading and ground handling; cargo and aircraft security; as well as operational safety and Safety Management System (SMS) processes. Position will perform Professional Loadmaster duties, flying onboard company aircraft in support of worldwide air cargo charter contracts, performing Ground Security Coordinator duties, managing the safe and secure provision of cargo and aircraft ground handling measures and services for those flights, and administer and schedule PLM program.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Five (5) years of experience in aviation cargo operations
Current FAA (14 CFR) Aircraft Weight and Balance (Loadplanner/Loadmaster) Certification or ability to recertify upon employment
Current FAA (49 CFR) Dangerous Goods Inspector Certification or ability to recertify upon employment
Ability to obtain and maintain TSA Security Threat Assessment and/or airport SIDA credential
Knowledge of aircraft weight and balance calculation methods and tools
Knowledge of FAR/ICAO/IATA regulations governing carriage of cargo, acceptance of dangerous goods for air transport, aircraft loading, aircraft ground handling, and cargo and aircraft safety measures
Knowledge of cargo and aircraft security regulations and measures
Valid driver's license
Valid US Passport
Ability to travel up to 75% of time
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree
Previous experience conducting audits, evaluations, or other safety assurance measures
Previous experience as instructor or trainer
Knowledge or experience with IOSA audits
Knowelge or experience with ICAO or FAA Safety Management Systems rules and processes
This is a traveling position, you will travel 20 days per month, then you will have 10 days off.
