About the Role:
The Compliance & People Partner will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment across the Americas. This role involves partnering with the Legal team, supporting Human Resources Business Partners and People Success Partners in the regions in which Worldpay operates, and ensuring adherence to applicable labor laws and regulations. The purpose of this role is to ensure legal compliance and promote a positive workplace culture by driving compliance initiatives, supporting employee relations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold a culture of compliance and integrity.
This role will have hybrid responsibilities and will be located at our headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. It will be in a hybrid environment coming in office at least two times per week. This is not a role where we provide sponsorship.
What you'll Own:
HR Compliance (75%):
Regulatory Compliance:Partner with Legal to address changes in federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, ensuring our policies and practices to be compliant. Develop and implement plans to update policies, compliance training, and the employee handbook in response to regulatory changes. Ensure relevant stakeholders understand the changes and how they impact the business, their functional area, or clients.
Policy Development:Assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards. Collaborate with Legal and People and Culture teams to draft, review, and update policies and procedures as required.
Audit and Reporting:Conduct regular audits of HR processes and records to identify potential compliance issues and ensure adherence to legal requirements. Develop and implement audit plans, conduct thorough reviews, and prepare detailed compliance reports for Legal and executive People and Culture leadership.
Training / Education: Collaborate with Legal and the Learning & Development (L&D) team to ensure compliance training is developed and delivered in accordance with legal obligations. Responsible for project management of compliance training, ensuring programs are delivered on time to the right audiences and reporting on outcomes. Partner with Corporate Communications to prepare targeted communications on compliance training requirements, results and outcomes.
Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Advise colleagues and managers on HR compliance issues.
Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, including training sessions, audits, and investigations.
Communication:Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees and external stakeholders. Coordinate responses to compliance inquiries, collaborate with relevant teams, and ensure appropriate responses on People and Culture areas for requests for proposals.
People Partner (25%):
Conflict Resolution:Mediate and resolve employee conflicts and grievances ensuring fair and timely resolution in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
Employee Relations:Support managers in identifying and addressing performance issues, and in implementing effective performance improvement plans.
Employee Support:Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
Investigation Support:As necessary, Lead HR investigations related to compliance issues, employee grievances, discrimination claims, and workplace safety incidents, ensuring adherence to appropriate processes and legal standards.
Workplace Culture:Promote a positive workplace culture by organizing and participating in employee engagement activities and initiatives.
HR Metrics:Analyze employee relations data and metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and support data-driven decision-making.
What you Bring:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within a corporate environment.
Minimum two years' experience developing and delivering compliance training content to employees and managers.
Experience in key HR compliance control environments, such as SOX, GAAP, or ISO27001-2022 (HR)
Understanding of federal, state, and local employmentlaws and regulations in the Americas.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in HR compliance.
Experience in conducting HR audits and investigations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills is required.
Strong critical thinking skills: Able to problem solve effectively and collaborate to align with other stakeholders.
Able to provide information to a variety of audiences and deal effectively with sensitive and confidential issues
Strong project management skills to bring projects successfully to closure and report status.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is required.
Resilient and adaptable to changing business needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheet advanced analysis skills.
Added bonus if you have:
Certification in HR compliance (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
Familiarity with Workday HRIS system.
