SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW SECTION

The employee shall provide professional engineering research and program management support and assistance necessary to aid in the mission accomplishment of the Airman Systems Directorate, Airman Biosciences Division 711 HPW/RHBA, Airman Readiness Optimization. The Airman Biosciences Division is an international center for research and technology evaluation in hazard mitigation, public health, contingency operations, performance enhancement, human systems integration, and clinical aerospace medicine disciplines including aeromedical evacuation. The division's branches provide research and consultative capability for aeromedical, chemical, biological, and radiological health hazard needs, as well as research for the biomedical impact of flight. The research supports Air Force Medical Service research interests by creating high-performance, integrated systems for individualized, operations enhancing health readiness. The Rapid Prototyping Cell area supports Air Force Medical Service research interests by creating high-performance, integrated systems for individualized operations-enhancing health protection.

Essential Job Functions

  • Acquisition & Contract Support
    • Assist with DoD acquisition programs, including contract development, obligation tracking, deliverables verification, and procurement package preparation.
    • Maintain contract and procurement records IAW AFI 33-322 and the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule.
  • Financial & Resource Management
    • Support budget tracking, expenditure reporting, and purchasing transaction data management.
    • Collaborate on resource estimates, DoD modernization support, and analysis for R&D project execution.
  • Technical & Program Execution
    • Draft Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), engineering plans, and technical documents (e.g., proposals, reports, and presentations).
    • Provide support to bench-level engineering assessments and performance evaluation.
  • Policy & Compliance Oversight
    • Ensure compliance with AF procurement policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Assist in monitoring and reporting program discrepancies and suggesting process improvements.
  • Communication & Coordination
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (Air Staff, MAJCOMs, industry, academia).
    • Deliver briefings, lead tours, and support cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical science or engineering field.
    • 5+ years supporting DoD acquisition programs.
    • 2+ years managing military system development projects including design reviews and testing.
  • Technical & Communication Skills
    • Skilled in technical writing, presentation development, and delivering briefings to senior military leaders.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, interpret guidelines, and recommend effective solutions.
    • Possess a working knowledge of industry acumen to assist with compliance of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations in support of the DAF.
  • Administrative & Software Proficiency
    • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Project).
  • Clearance & Legal Requirements
    • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (initiation required upon award).
    • NDA signed and on file by performance start.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with the DoD.
  • 5+ years of DoD program management experience.
  • Familiarity with military and medical terminology.
