Position Overview
As a Welder at V&S Schuler Utilities Group, you will join metal parts to create strong, durable products and structures that meet exacting specifications. You’ll read and interpret blueprints, prepare materials, and operate welding equipment safely and accurately to produce work that meets our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Set up welding equipment, tools, and materials for the job.
- Perform welding processes including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Use grinders, cutters, and other fabrication tools for prep and finishing.
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on welding equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
- Work collaboratively to meet deadlines and production goals.
- Document work completed and materials used.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role.
- Skilled in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification preferred.
Working Conditions
- Shop environment with temperature variations depending on season.
- PPE required, including welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Overtime or shift work may be required based on project needs.

Wage: starting rate is $24.25/hour
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 5:30 am to 2 pm (with overtime)
