Position Overview




Riverside Research is seeking a Laboratory Manager who has experience with managing a research facility. Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. A successful candidate for this position will support laboratory researchers in the development and characterization of microelectronics performance, experimental testing, and data analysis. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and facilitating the documentation of technical solutions and services to ensure the efficiency of research operations. The Laboratory Manager will also manage laboratory spaces and work to keep equipment functional and well maintained, as well as order laboratory supplies and calibrations for instruments. Candidates for this position will have excellent planning skills, small project management experience, and strong verbal and written communication skills. This is a full-time position located at Wright-Patterson AFB.


Responsibilities




Ensures safety and effective operations of U.S. Government research laboratory facility
Identifies, reports, and drives coordination of facility operations safety and maintenance requirements with appropriate government agencies
Facilitates communication and coordination of facility operations with contract and government facility managers, security, IA/IT, researchers, Program Managers and Government leadership
Coordinates directly with government and contract researchers and other team members to identify technical solutions for Contract Acquired Procurement (CAP) supporting program research and facility requirements
Plans and manages facility tasks to successful outcomes while meeting requirements and deadlines
Leads, coordinates, and tracks Riverside CAP materials and equipment in support of research operations
Directly supports both U.S. Government customer and Riverside PM with receipt, tracking and delivery of CAP property to the US. Government; and assists the government customer with management of the equipment in the lab, including licensing, service contracts, and other lifecycle requirements
Manages maintenance, inventory, and calibration of electronic equipment necessary for lab operations
Develop status and progress reports for PM and government customers
Other duties as assigned by the Riverside Program Manager


Qualifications




Required Qualifications

Experience with managing a research laboratory or similar facility
Experience planning small projects and managing them to successful outcomes with minimal supervision
Familitary with test, measurement, and research equipment
Experience planning and facilitating meetings
Excellent organizational, planning, and communications skills
Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Work effectively and collaboratively in a matrixed, multi-discipline team environment
Experience delivering high-qualtity products with minimal direct supervision
Ability to consistenly demonstrate good judgement and pay attention to critical details
5 years of experience in facility management and government CAP support
Active DoD Top Secret (TS) or equivalent US Government security clearance and ability to obtain/maintain all program clearances
Willingness to work in a secure US Government facility



Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in technical or related discipline and 5 years of experience in facility management and CAP support
Familiar with Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) standards and management
Experience working in a microelectronics laboratory
Familiarity with US Government Safety program management
Experience working in a secure facility

$70,000 - $140,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
