Job Purpose:

Performs various functions related to the collection and loan servicing process. The position maintains the bank's interest for delinquency and losses through effective collection and loss mitigation strategies. Handles complex collection situations including loan modification requests, bankruptcy, repossession, and foreclosure recommendations.

Job Duties

Conduct collection activities for various areas within the organization as assigned, such as: consumer loans, direct or indirect portfolios, loss recovery, etc.
Identify, evaluate, and resolve reasons for delinquency to reduce loss to the organization.
Recommend work out solutions and loan modifications as applicable.
Work with foreclosures and repossessions, as well as oversight of repossessed assets and foreclosed properties completed upon the direction of the Manager of Collections and Loss Mitigations.
Responsible for securing, preservation, monitoring, and liquidation of foreclosure properties and repossessed assets.
Assist and interact professionally with internal associates in a variety of departments.
Comply with applicable internal policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements.
Responsible for assisting with the cross training of Collector II associates.
Provide support to the Collections Manager by valuing assets for sale at auction, determining next best action for individual accounts and coordinating with third party vendors as applicable.
Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience and Job Skills

Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent work experience required.
5+ years of increasing responsibility and experience within consumer collections.
1-3 years experience with consumer and residential lending.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive successful actions and results.
Thorough knowledge of loan collection techniques, laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, comprehension, listening and negotiation skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to resolve moderate problems with minimal guidance.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel.
Motivated by individual and team performance.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent work experience required.
5+ years of increasing responsibility and experience within consumer collections.
