Job Description: HVAC Service Technician
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service Technician to join our team and provide top-notch service in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach to ensure client satisfaction and the efficient operation of HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshooting on a variety of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, heating systems, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
- Repair or replace defective components, such as motors, compressors, fans, thermostats, and electrical wiring.
- Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, wiring, and associated equipment, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to explain repair and maintenance needs, provide cost estimates, and offer recommendations for system improvements.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of service calls, work performed, and parts used for each job.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning and training opportunities.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure work environment for both technicians and clients.
- Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate schedules, discuss technical issues, and provide updates on job progress.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and offering guidance on HVAC system usage and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC technical training program or relevant certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and operation.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment and components safely.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- EPA certification for handling refrigerants is a plus.
