JOB TITLE: Dispatch Operations Specialist DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Assistant Dispatch Operations Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt EFFECTIVE DATE: REVISION DATE: GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Dispatch Operations Specialist will focus on the real-time management of the paratransit fleet, ensuring maximum productivity and increased on-time performance. The Dispatch Operations Specialist is responsible for the efficient and organized execution of all Operations Room functions. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Optimize trips using Trapeze software to ensure timely and efficient paratransit runs. • Provide guidance and support to drivers on protocols and company standards. • Maintain dispatch focuses and alert boards. • Respond promptly to reported incidents, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, and driver call-offs or late arrivals • Follow documented Accident/Incident Policy and Procedures. • Follow and enforce the Substance Abuse Policy for Safety Sensitive Employees. • Accurately report reported vehicle issues using the Fleetsoft system and communicate effectively with the maintenance technicians about the transport of vehicles to and from the maintenance shop. • Ensure that vehicle bags are properly stocked and that the needed equipment is fully functioning. • Perform other duties as assigned. One to three years related experience and/or training in specialized transportation, dispatch of transportation services, or customer service is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable. • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, crouch, talk, hear and speak to others in person, via two-way radio, and by telephone. The employee is required to walk, and use hands to write, handle, or feel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
