Job Summary

The Licensed Surveyor is responsible for conducting land surveys to support Barrett Paving Materials' construction and paving projects. The role ensures all measurements, boundaries, and topographical data are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities

Perform detailed boundary, topographic, and construction site surveys using GPS, total stations, and related equipment.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to provide accurate site data for layout and project planning.
Analyze survey data and prepare reports, plats, maps, and project documentation.
Verify property boundaries and ensure construction activities remain within legal limits.
Manage survey crews, provide training, and oversee proper use of equipment.
Interpret engineering plans and assist with layout, staking, and quality control.
Maintain field notes, logs, and digital records in accordance with company and state standards.
Ensure all surveying activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Troubleshoot site challenges and provide timely solutions.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and represent Barrett Paving Materials in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Professional Surveyor License (state-specific, active and in good standing).
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of field surveying experience, ideally in road construction or heavy civil projects.
Proficiency in survey instruments, GPS systems, and CAD/software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, or similar).
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
