Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Job Purpose

Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated candidate in the area of Advanced Technologies to support the design and development of mechanical and electrified driveline technologies. This work involves supporting initial design and CAD for technology concepts, supporting final design for Proof of Concept (PoC) builds, development of virtual models to predict performance to KPIs, and correlating virtual models to PoC bench test data.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Concept Development:


Lead requirements generation, design, and development of new and innovative driveline technologies from idea to PoC with emphasis on electrified product portfolio; includes responsibility for delivery of both mechanical and supporting electrical systems (gearbox, mechatronics/actuators)
Follow Dana's Technical Development Process (TDP) to meet project goals including budget, timing, and quality of deliverables for identified projects
Perform virtual CAE modeling assessments of key KPIs with ability to refine & correlate model to test data collected by other engineers
Interface with platform and product teams for integration of developed technologies towards production solution
Lead concept CAD activities for proposed projects
Generate supporting BOM for each technology
Assist in design modifications to proof of concept (PoC) components as required

Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
4+ years experience in related discipline (designing electro-mechanical systems, thermal systems)
Previous experience in mechatronics systems (gear, actuator, fluid management, etc.)
Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytical ability.
"Out of the box" thinker for novel solutions
Proficiency in Matlab 1D simulation (Simulink - Simscape)
Proficiency in NX and TeamCenter Systems Engineering
GD&T proficiency in mechanical and electro-mechanical parts
Ability to perform prior art / literature searches for concept development
Experience with requirements mgt. tools such Polarion, JIRA a plus.
CFD modeling experience a plus
Romax / Kissoft experience a plus
Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills - able to present at Chief Technology Officer (CTO) level as required
Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities
Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
Must be able to work in a team environment and have good communication skills.
