Monroe County Department of Job & Family Services is seeking applicants for a full-time position of Social Services Worker II.
Job Duties:
Investigates reports of abuse & neglect of children and elderly adults in accordance with state rules. Provides crisis intervention. Maintains ongoing caseload. Will be required to participate in on-call rotation with team members (e.g., after business hours, weekends & holidays). Requires excellent communication and organizational skills (e.g., written/verbal/interviewing/computer).
Minimum Qualifications:
B.A., B.S. or A. S. in behavioral science preferred at time of hire but not required in the following fields: social work, psychology, sociology, early childhood development technology, or education. For employment to continue, person must obtain a job-related bachelor’s degree. A valid driver’s license, and at least one year’s experience in a position similar to a Social Service Worker 1 is required (or working with children/adults in need of or receiving protective services, or handling adoptions, or counseling persons who have experienced abuse or neglect).
