Job Description

Provide project management, including creating and executing a cybersecurity development plan for overall automobile development including adaptation of new requirements or new systems without precedent, utilizing processes compliant with standards such as SAE 21434 to break down project details into required cybersecurity development activities at each project milestone and then performing entire vehicle cybersecurity certification to report the overall status to management. Provide cybersecurity requirement allocation, including breaking down new feature or functionality information from model overview or concept information into cybersecurity protection requirements, then conducting design reviews with technical leadership; techniques such as cybersecurity threat analysis based on attack vectors for each vehicle system are utilized; and exhibits subject matter expertise which can meet or exceed quality expectation without significant oversight. Provide cybersecurity requirement application, including working with system engineers to understand the background or other detailed information related to cybersecurity requirements to support correct implementation or verification of supplier’s work products; and providing subject matter expertise for understanding how new cybersecurity requirements shall be applied to any system. Providing cybersecurity requirement verification, including performing testing in prototype or mass production level vehicles related performance of encryption, firewall or security key management implementations; deriving the required verification activities and test techniques for newly implemented cybersecurity specifications without prior development use cases by utilizing their knowledge and experience; and creating test result reports and conduct verification reviews with technical leadership. Provide incident response and threat analysis based on vulnerabilities found in common applications such as Android OS or other commonly used embedded system applications, investigate similar occurrence of vulnerabilities in Honda products and propose any necessary countermeasures, and lead a team of engineers to investigate and resolve related incidents, making concise reports of activity to management. May lead large cross-functional teams of engineers on broad investigations of new processes or technologies which improve development activities, capability or efficiency, including making project proposals to management, setting direction for the best implementation and accountability to report progress on technical activity, budget and schedule.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or other cybersecurity-related program; 4 years of relevant professional experience; 4 years of experience with product testing of security key management implementations using various hardware implementation-specific analysis tools such as Lauterbach J-TAG, UART terminal, Ethernet Wire-Shark applying knowledge of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) standards; 3 years of work experience specifically in cybersecurity; 3 years of experience with product performance testing of ECU encryption using communication measurement tools such as Vector CANoe or open source tools such as TLS or OpenCrypt; 3 years of experience with cybersecurity requirement allocation including breakdown of new functionality into cybersecurity protection requirements using DNG or visual tools such as MS Visio applying knowledge of operating system (typically LINUX) basics; knowledge of standards: SAE 21434 or UNR155 and 3 years of experience applying the standard to an automotive product; and 2 years of experience with incident response and threat analysis creation using information management tools such as MS Excel and experience conducting both activities with an automotive product.
